JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION

The Collector is responsible for contacting customers who are delinquent in their payment schedule to negotiate a payment plan.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The duties of a Collections Specialist include collection calls and/or correspondence in a fast paced goal oriented collections department.
  • Providing customer service regarding collection issues, resolve client discrepancies and short payments. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts- Customer calls.
  • Accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts.
  • Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Department.
  • Manage repossession assignments with approved agents
  • Weekly and monthly reporting to direct supervisor
  • High volume phone calls to assigned delinquent customers
  • Reconcile customer disputes as they pertain to payment of outstanding balances that are due
  • Meet defined department goals

 

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability to perform the essential functions

  • 3-5 years High Volume corporate Collections experience.
  • Knowledge of Billing and Collections procedures
  • Accounts Receivable knowledge/experience a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, goal oriented
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to Skip Trace using multiple resource

  • Ability to operate normal office equipment as required performing the essential job functions: keyboard, telephone, copier, facsimile, credit bureau, calculator, Loan Origination System, Servicing System, and other systems/software that the company utilizes as part of its overall population.
